The Lovely 50's

Ah, I am so happy Marc Jacobs made such a 50's inspired collection for Louis Vuitton's Fall 2010 RTW collection! The 50's are most definatly one of my favourite dress periods, everyone looked properly dressed, no lady left the house without gloves a coat and a hat and the elegance that was portrayed through what one wore was divine beauty.

To You From Me.

To all the people who have influenced my life:

To my friends at Somerset Primary for making me realise the simple things in life often make you the happiest.
To Marny for teaching me to laugh everything off.
To Angela for giving me insight on the most controversial topics.
To Georgia for being there and teaching me there is a bigger picture.
To Miranda for helping to create a different person and teaching me dreaming is really important.
To Corinna for teaching me that moving on is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself.
To Maisie for teaching me persistancey does really count.
To Abigail for making me realise ignorance doesn't pay of.
To Ellie for making me realise not everything is black and white.
To Olivia for teaching me to never give in.
To Mari for teaching me strong people are respected.
To Emi for teaching me the wisest people are the most caring.
To Caitlin for teaching me respect goes a long way and insecurity goes no where.
To Alex for teaching me this is my life and you have to do whatever you have to to make it.
To Alistair for teaching me intelligence gets you no where unless you know how to use it.
To Andrew for reminding me faith is an important part of reality.
To the girls of my grade for teaching me class is gained in the actions you carry out.
To all my teachers for teaching me to never hold back.
To my parents for teaching me you can lose the most important things (I'm to far gone)
To my dad for teaching me ignorance and naivety lead to self-destruction.
To my mum for teaching me no matter how hard you try to erase, scars remain.
To my nan for teaching me patience is a virtue.
To my pop for reminding me that simple gestures take you a long way.

Thankyou for making me smarter and wiser in so many ways. The person I am today is because of you all. I hope I have all taught you something in return.

To God for showing me everything I need will truely come to me and everything happens for a reason.

To myself for learning trust is underated.

An amazing quote for the day "So watch your head and then watch the ground, It's a silly time to learn to swim when you start to drown, It's a silly time to learn to swim on the way down" - My Number. Tegan and Sara

I've noticed a lot of people are running...including myself. I should probably stop and enjoy smelling the roses ;)

Desert Flower.

Over the past month I have been reading the book Desert Flower by Waris Dirie. It is a magnificantly  moving book which has really inspired me!
I'm hoping to see the movie also named Desert Flower.

Search For Wisdom.

Over the next nine months of this year I have decided to take a different approach to life and seek various forms of inspiration; I feel as though my life is lacking something.  Hopefully I will be able to find something life changing. I want something amazing to happen!

P.S.S. To further add on from my last post, I would prefer  to be loved than feared.

Power Play.

"...is [it] better to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather than loved...it is far safer to be feared than loved... since his being loved depends upon his subjects, while his being feared depends upon himself, [one] should build on what is his own, and not on what rests with others.”

What would you prefer?

Designs.

Lately I have been using blogger more than usual and I plan to do so for a fair while; I just find it as a place to let go of everything and just type. It's good.So for the past month I have really cracked down on my sewing and drawing of designs for both AATFA and the college winter ball. I have decided on one of my designs for the AATFA's and I have my ball dress pattern picked out - who knows I may even enter that in AATFA - I've attached some pictures that look similar to the dresses I'm making. I hope you like them, I'm certainly looking forward to making them and styling them with accessories.

P.S. The red dress is similar to my ball dress (even though it is a coktail dress) and the floral dress is similar to the dress I'm designing for AATFA.

I can't believe how fast this year is going! I'm not complaining though: i want school to be over and the results from my exams, which by the way are at the end of the year.
I'm so nervous about my future, I just want it to happen!
In the mean time I'm just floating along for the ride.

10 year plan!

Lately I have been really focusing on my future and the way i'm going to go about to get there. For the past year I have been planning on making a 5-10 year plan.
Anyway, at last I have finally got some idea or rough plan on how I would like my life to play out, the major goal of this 5-10 year plan is to end up living in London with a full time job, hopefully as a fashion designer. Not only is London beautiful in itself, there are many beautiful countries surounding it just an arm length away!
Now that I have the next 10 or so years of my life planned out I'm beginning to wonder, what should I do next. I shouldn't really be wondering about that now as I'm not even at my original goal yet but seriously, I wonder what you do when you have everything you want out of life and you no longer need to work for everything. Do you just stop and accept what you have got?
