A Note On Motivation.

There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost, the world will not have it, It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable it is, nor how it compares with other expressions, it is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work, you have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you, keep the channel open, no artist is pleased, there is no satisfaction whatever at any time, there is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.

Paris Vogue: Mon Obsession!

While I'm sitting here sipping coffee and typing whilst flicking through Paris Vogue, I am instantly falling in love with all the adds and the photography. (not to mention the fashion) One of my friends has just recently returned from France with a much appreciated magazine and many other gifts.
With fashion on my mind I think it is an appropriate time to talk about the beautiful lables and designers that have caught my attention, starting with Prada.

Prada: my first website I go to to look for handbags of the season. I absolutly love their handbags! briefcase style or tote I just adore them.

Chanel is just beautiful and classic, the way I like it. At the moment I love their tailored jackets not to mention their perfume.

Giorgio Armani! Now we're talking, jeweled dresses and clutches, gloves, satin, all you need is the right attitude to pull it all off and you'll be the one everyones eyes are upon at that upcoming event! He is a God!

Bottega Veneta Have gorgeous bags, trenches, and light charcoal coloured dresses. I have only just discovered this lable and have simply fallen head over heels for it!

P.S Please bare in mind these photos do not belong to me they are the advertisment campaign photos from Prada and Bottega Veneta

Inspired!!!

It's been a while since my last post and a lot has happened. First of all I completed my garment for the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards about a day before the show! I was almost about to give up because the ridiculous zip wouldn't go in properly, but after much determination I was satisfied with it! I hardly thought about even winning this year because I thought I did such a tacky job and other designers in my opinion had much better creations; anyway you wouldn't believe it but I won the casual/everyday wear section in Tasmania for 2009 and will be competing in Sydney in October!!! I'm so excited it will be my first time in Sydney!!! There is so much I want to do there!
I have also completed work experience for a whole week at the North West Burnie Private Hospital. It was rather boring considering I am not qualified to do anything except make beds and clean up after the patients but it was worth it ;)

Anyway I thought I'd leave you with an amazing quote I found and a pretty picture!
enjoy =)

"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons." - Irvine Welsh.

Motivation for Inspiration.

Procrastination is one of my biggest most annoying flaws, and it absolutely irritates me to the extreme. I have finally decided to get off my backside and actually do something, something that will be for the best hopefully.
Here are a few things that are going to get done this month!
-I am going to get a job.
-I am going to pass my L's test.
-I am going to order subscriptions to magazines.
-I am going to go shopping and not feel guilty about it (because I have a job)
and
-I am going to hand all my homework in before the holidays so I can relax for two weeks!

Because I am going to be busy doing the above I may not have time to blog, but I will tell you how it goes!

An old but recent obsession!

I love Polyvore and it's freedom of creatiny your own sets as well as uploading your own photos! I've been a member of Polyvore for over eight months now and have just recently been attracted back to my one on one relationship with it ;)
Considering I have no artistic talent what-so-ever, I can make my own clothes and all but I mean drawing and painting, I use Polyvore as an outlet of my inner creativity; although sometimes I don't think I have creativity! Above are some of my previous and most recent sets!

Last month of Winter!

Sadly it is the last month of winter over here in Australia. I love the winter and the coldness it brings, it gives me an excuse to sit in bed with my laptop and a coffee and just type. Don't get me wrong, I love the summer and wearing bikini's although I will miss the rain on the roof of a night time...

Again I am looking for a job, I am needing one so bad. Below is a list of things I would like right now:

Napoleon Perdis Sweater set
" " Career set
" " Denim set
a curler
a subscription to Peppermint Magazine
and a brand new camera with shutters

Shopping!

Today was amazing as I went shopping for make-up for the end of year 'formal' (as we have to call it now) I purchased so many goodies including false eyelashes which I tried on after I got back home. After much struggle and motivation I was able to apply the lashes effectively and I love them! I'm still needing to learn how to apply them properly but practice is perfect! If anyone has any tips on applying eyelashes I would be very grateful =)

Above is another photo of one of Katherine Pont's amazing creations!

Books Books and More Books!!!

I love books and over the past few years have found myself not reading as much as I would like. My primary school years had seen me reading up to three books a week! The last book I have read recently was the 'Lord of The Flies' by William Golding, and that was about three weeks ago, probably around the third book for this year! (good read by the way although a bit slow to start off with)

At the moment I am constructing a list of all the little fabulous books I am wanting to read which include:

The Last Summer (of You and Me)
The Luxe
Rumours
Envy
Angus Thongs and Full Throttle Snogging
It’s Ok I’m Wearing Really Big Knickers
Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas
Influence
How to Walk in High Heels
A Place Called Here
Desert Flower
A Boy Named It
My Sister;s Keeper (hopefully before I see the movie)
Born-Again Vintage

I'm going to need to find that old plastic card, not of the money sort, and hit the good old library!

Fashion Label.

I have yet again been in my sewing studio designing. I call it my studio although it is one of my nan and pops spare bedrooms. I am really wanting my own fashion label that is well known, I have the designs all I really need is the money people to work for me and a name, oh and maybe copyright laws haha maybe it is a bit more than I thought! At the moment I am designing and sewing for an Australian competition called the 'Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards' otherwise known as the 'AATFA's'. I'm really looking forward to them this year, maybe and hopefully I will come a place, but just going to shop is also a bonus.
Lately I've been thinking I should probably learn to drive properly so I am officially putting a date on getting my L's, the 5th of September is the official date!

The Thrill of School.

To be honest I really did love school, mainly because of friends and getting away from the family, but I am now completely bored with it now and it frankly seems a complete drag! The truth is I HATE school now and want to do something productive with my life, something I can truly learn from, but I guess I'm going to need to stick it out!

Freedom!

Exams are officially over and I feel as though I am in paradise, all I need to do is wait for my results and relax. A few of you would probably know how much I adore Florence and The Machine, well at the moment I am falling in love with Howl, one of the songs on her new album Between Two Lungs. If you get the chance you should have a listen.

Alannah Hill Inspires!

Alannah Hill has the most gorgeous designs that are feminime, unique and simply adorable; but this is not the only reason she inspires me so much. Alannah, unbelivabley, was born in Tasmania and lived in the small town of Penguin! Tasmania is the state in which I live, and it is very rare that anyone designer-wise makes it down here. Anyway, above are some photos from Alannah's latest collection, I hope you adore them as much as I do!

Contemplating future aspirations!

Meh! I want to do so much in my future as well as now and have no idea where to start??? I think I am just going to have to take it as it comes and let it all fall into place...

Cake X

It's 2:45, the baby takes his first breath
The mother never knew he only had a few left and
The father gets a call in the middle of the night
His breath gets short and his chest gets tight

But he's 16, and he's driving too fast
Takes a turn to the left, it would be his last
Nobody knows what happens if he turns to the right
Nobody in the car would've died that night

But he's 32 and invincible.
The cancer he had it was visceral
He never saw it coming...thought he had his whole life
Sick in the morning and he died in the night.

We're all so...
We're on the run.
We're all, we're all
We're wasted, no no no
We're all wasted
We're wasted, no no
We're all wasted

7 years old, got his bat in his hand
He’s looking for his father and he doesn't understand
'Cause dad's too busy, got some deals on the way
His son sits alone as the children play

And he's 18 he couldn't wait to move out
His parents wonder what all the rush is about
They never bothered with his dreams
Only thinking of theirs.
Wonders why he doesn't call and why he doesn't care

But he's 32 and invincible
With everything he is based on principle
He never had a truly happy moment in his life
He didn't want the kids and he didn't want his wife.

We're wasted, no no no
We're all wasted
We're wasted, no no
We're all wasted
We're wasted
We're all wasted
We're all wasted, no no
We're all wasted

23 now got his life in his hands
He's looking all around and he doesn't understand
'Cause life's too busy, things get in the way
We all feel alone every single day

And I'm 18 couldn't wait to move out
It's been 5 years and now I'm starting to doubt...
Whether all my dreams are just aimless stares
Looking off to someplace that isn’t there

When I'm 32 will I be miserable?
With everything around based on principle
Will I have a clue, oh wouldn't it be nice
to never be alone in this wasted life.

We're wasted, no no no
We're all wasted
We're wasted, no no
We're all wasted
We're wasted
We're all wasted
We're all wasted, no no
We're all wasted.

Elie Saab!

When surfing the net you always find a number of new things and today I just happened to find a new designer, well I havevn't heard of him. I immediatly fell in love with his autumn winter 08/09 range; beautiful evening and ball gowns with a beautiful colour range and choice of fabric. I'm talking muslin, taffeta, tuelle and velvet. The dress below is definatly my favourite and I think I will make my own take of it for the summer photoshoot I previously mentioned!

Nervous a tad =s

So I'm tucked up in bed with a hot cup of coffee, drained from the first day back at school. Although I seem to be keeping up with the work at the moment (hence being back one day) I still feel as though I need another week or so off...a swine flu outbreak would be great =P I have a math test tomorrow that I feel as though I'm going to fail because of my lack of study over the holidays =s I'm rather nervous, so I decided to take a look at the stuff I like best...FASHION! and who better than my favourite female designer Katherine Pont! I'm In Love!

Two words; Louis Vuitton! Love love love the a/w 09 range. I love how they created a more structured look for winter, unlike other designers who went for more of a slouchy look! Poufs and gathering create a more soft, sophisticated look.

Natalie Shau!

I am not, unfortunatly gifted with the talent of drawing and sometimes wish I had kept my art up to, well enhance my ability. When I see a good piece of art I will become all depressed and just wish I could be as talented as the artist.
Natalie Shau; an artist with such a unique style I will now need rehab! I love the darkness and fantasy her workings produce. Take a look.

Kaftans

So here in Aussie it isn't actually summer, no it's actually winter and it's starting to get rather cold. But I have been very interestead in making and designing kaftans! I love the long ones the shorts ones and the in-between ones! Anyway here are two of my favourite designs! I think Lily Cole wears kaftans like she was born in one, isn't she beautiful?
