Ok so a couple of years ago I really fell in love with Miu Miu's shoe designs but didn't really care about there clothing; BIG MISTAKE! I recently saw some of their new wears in the May/June Russh issue and absolutly adored them so I decided to take a look at their website and fell in love all over again with thir pre-fall collection! Each piece is so unique with structure and hang. I love the leg warmers and the fur making the looks warm and elegant, take a look!

Russh!

Well I'm tired and unmotivated today.
Yesterday I got the long awaited Russh magazine, yes it is a bit late but I have no job and had to vacuum to get this issue!
Anyway while turning the pages ever so carefully (i don't like bending the pages of Russh, it's like a bible to me) I have found two very inspiring, cute and sweet things; the first one being the M.A.C Sugarsweet range and the second being Kookai' Love and Lies range!
I'm inlove with M.A.C's Sugarsweet collection because of the soft colours, all of which will suit my fashion shoot I want to do in the summer! I especially want to get my hands on the Peooermint Patti nail polish which is the most adorable pastel green in the world!
Love and Lies, Kookai's new range that I have fallen in love with. I love the use of natural colours Kookai have used, I'm not a big fan of bright colours unless they are worn correctly...I love the styles Kookai have used for their new range; they are simple, well structured and warm looking for the winter months, stylish and most importantly look comfortable. I also adore their new lingerie range which is Parisian inspired! I have a soft spot for lingerie ;)
I desperatly need money!

Relaxation.

Relaxation is good and as I am on holidays I am making the most of relaxing while I can. I am still incredibly busy though getting things I want to do done. I have decided not to do anything today but plan for a photo session tomorrow and maybe some reading!
It is so nice at the moment not a noise to be heard; I love the sound of silence!
I'm still very excited from my previous post on my enormous amounts of inspiration and have started to make a plan for the day in December! I have plenty of photos that I am going to use as inspiration for my designs, but the one below really stands out for me, I feel it's really tea-party worthy =)

Florence and The Machine, Marie Antoinette and Tulle!!!!!!!!

INSPIRATION!!! Yay it just came in like a second...
So last night I found a new artist who goes by the name of Florence and The Machine and I have totally fallen in love with her song Rabbit Heart with has the most adorable video to go with it; watch it below =)
I also have been watching Marie Antoinette which is such an amazing film; I think the acting and screen play is so unique and really set the mood for the film. I love Marie Antoinette and her infamous words "Permettez-eux de manger le gâteau." translation: "Let them eat cake."
Material is one of the best ways to gain inspiration for designing new clothes for me; just playing around with it and draping it...
Anyway I have decided to make a summer evening wear range all made out of pale coloured tulle and the photoshoot will be based around a tea party think Marie Antoinette and Rabbit Heart!

Party!

Ok so last night was my party and I had tonnes of fun! I didn't look out of lace with what I was wearing, well at least I didn't think so. I was given more amazing presents all of which will come in handy and keep me preoccupied over the school holidays!
I would just like to say how stylish and effortless Alexa Chung can dress herself; she is so beautiful and her figure is amazing and the clothes just complement her so much!

Photography and Poems!

Just yesterday I found one of my aunties old poem books and found a poem she had marked. It's called: The Hand That Signed The Paper by Dylan Thomas and is out of the Junior Poetry Workshop (edited by N. Russell and H.J. Chatfield)

The Hand That Signed The Paper

The hand that signed the paper felled a city; Five sovereign fingers taxed the breath, Doubled the globe of dead and halved a country; These five kings did a king to death.

The mighty hand leads to a sloping shoulder, The finger joints are cramped with chalk; A goose's quill has put an end to murder That put an end to talk.

The hand that signed the treaty bred a fever, And famine grew, and locusts came; Great is the hand that holds dominion over Man by a scribbled name.

The five kings count the dead but do not soften The crusted wound nor pat the brow; A hand rules pity as a hand rules heaven; Hands have no tears to flow.

-- Dylan Thomas

I don't know why, I just really like it, maybe because it is realistic...Anyway I have decided to read the the Junior Poetry Workshop and find some more poems!
I've also found another photographer who has striked my fancy; Eugene Atget. I absolutley love his street photography and the depth and detail in his photos. Here are some of his workings;

All for now...

Birthday and Designs!

Yesterday was my birthday and I got the most exciting present; a dress makers model! Yes I will be designing in massive amounts over the holidays! One of my friends also gave me this amazing photography book called The Photo Book by Phaidon. The photos are great and include a range of techniques. One of my favourite photos is: V-J Day in Times Square by Alfred Eisenstaedt which is below. It was taken after World War II was declared over. I love the freedom and happiness the photo gives off, it really captured the reality of the festivities after the war. Also have started on my designs for the blog and have loads of cupcakes ready to be scanned on the computer, i'm also going to sew some up using felt which will keep me occupied for a while.
Thats all for today...

Tired...

Sipping Coffee and wondering what I'm gonna do over the school holidays... I've decided my life is really unorganised and my priorities are all screwed up, but then again maybe they're not, it's all to confusing. I'm wanting a small change in appearance lately and have been considering to get my hair cut into a bob! (I think I will keep thinking about that one)
Just recently I have been interested in fake nails and eyelashes. I've got the whole fake nail thing under control and love them but I have never tried false eyelashes, I'm scared of making a complete mess of my eye and the beautiful eyelashes! I think I will try them over the holidays =)
NEW MUSIC! yes that's right, lol
I've been listening to Kesha for some time before she become popular with FloRida's song 'Right Round'. You should check her out on myspace music and her facebook, both have amazing songs and showcase her amazing talent. Be sure to check out 'Get In Line', 'Backstabber', 'Crazy Girl', 'Radio Radio Radio', and 'Secret Weapon', actually just check them all out ;)

Birthday Preparations!

Only 4 days counting today till my birthday!
Really really excited because I will be getting the best present ever! a dress makers model! Today I had a kind of dress rehersal for what I will be wearing to my party/dinner on the following Saturday night and i'm thinking it may look a bit overdone =S for Burnie anyway. I don't really mind i'm still gonna wear it but i might get some weird looks haha.
So again I wasn't able to post last night, I was so tired and the homework is still piled up =( Got school reports yesterday and i have decided I have done alright, although my science and maths grades have gone down (just making sure there is room for improvment ;)
Been drawing designs that are inspired by the T.V. series Gossip Girl and can't wait to create them. Most of them are dresses inspired by Blair; lace detail and out-there headpieces. Her style is just so elegant and sexy!
What i'm wearing to my party is actually inspired by her style.

I think that is all from me today,

Bag designs and art!

As i started sewing again after school I have decided to make an overnight bag! I have a fair idea of what i want it to look like but i'm still looking for ideas and inspiration for fabric, trim and extra detail. I think I will look on some websites for some ideas. Really excited!
I think I also need to add some art to my blog! I have some ideas including cupcakes, hand drawn designs and my friend Olivia may (if i ask very nicely) draw me a couple of designs!
This was a short post but i will try harder tomorrow night as it will be Friday, no school for two days yay!

Designing and Contemplating...

Ok so i'm at home enjoying a coffee and thinking about what i really want to do with my life. School is a drag yet i have to complete year 11 and 12 to become a nurse and then it's another 3 years at uni. I don't know if i will be able to complete them 3 years if i'm stuggling to complete college??? Maybe i should go to TAFE and become a stylist...
Anyway as promised I will now discuss my favourite RAFW designers and their designs. My favourites would definitely have to be Ant!podium, Ellery, Emma Milikins and Romance Was Born. Ant!podium had a mixture of soft girly designs and tough tomboy designs all of which looked fantastic. The colours were sweet and tough and nothing too bright was used in there collection.
Ellery was another one of my favourites. The desings were well structured and enthusiased the shoulders and hips. Ellery's designs easily gave off a look that was both feminine and edgy. Black and white tones and vibrant colours were great for their designs enhancing each piece of clothing. Ellery would have too have been one of my favourites at RAFW 09! Emma Milikins out of the New Generation show had amazing designs. Volumous skirts made out of light weight and bright material, and out there accessories is really my thing so i will be keeping an eye out in future for her.

Romance Was Born was to me the highlight of RAFW! Wearable art is just amazing! The freedom shown through their designs was amazing, magical and very mysterious. Romance Was Born was most definatly the most quirky, sexy, vibrant and creative show for RAFW 09! (to me anyway ;)

Here are some other designs I really adored... Tonight i also went to sewing after school and i'm feeling really creative! Making so many things this year; skirts, tops, dresses, jewlery, head-pieces, scarves, overnight bags ahhhh i'm so excited! Well i better go and do homework before i get even more behind =(

Procrastinating!

Yes i am one of those people that procrastinate and leave things, sometimes important things till the last minute, especially school work which i find uninteresting. Because of my bad habits I have been unable to keep up with my blog and am not very happy about that so I am going to promise to so a really really long and interesting post tomorrow; if i have no homework ;) I better go and finish my maths homework for the night and curl up into bed. I was up till 1am finishing my V.E.L assignment last night, or should i say morning!

Books and French Lessons!

Today is Friday which is the most loved day of the week by me because of the weekend and all ;) I have homework this weekend though =( Anyways i've been reading this book called Lord of the Flies by William Golding. It's a fairly old book and i'm sure many of you would have seen or heard of the movie. I don't know what to think of it yet and i'm 1/3 of the way through it (it's kinda boring) I will finish reading it though because i always finish books i have started but i think i will get something a little more interesting for my next read. Thinking the Gossip Girl series =)
Random Note: i really want a coffee right now!
Recently i have also started learning French again! I did it in grade 7 and 8 but didn't do it in grade 9 which i am really unhappy about as it is such a beautiful language! I personally think i am doing fairly well although Georgia might think differently haha.
Tomorrow i think i will put RAFW 09 photos up of my favourite collections

New Coat!

Yay! So today my new coat that i bought on e-bay arrived! It was my first e-bay item and i'm extremely happy with it.
Lately i have noticed my taste in music has dramatically changed. I was really into industrial metal and some rather heavy stuff but i am now into stuff like Indie and more classical types of music. I'm basically just telling you this so i can brag about my favourite singers ;) These include Sia; i absolutley adore her song Breath Me, her voice is amazing and the instrumental work is just brilliant. Bat For Lashes i admit i never used to like but hey her song Daniel is one of my favourites and happens to be my myspace profile song. t.A.T.u are amazing, there is just something about European bands that strikes me, they seem to know how to use their voices and technology to their advantage. I've loved t.A.T.u since they first came out way back in 2003 i think it was, with All The Things She Said! At the moment i am also totally and completly in love with Kate Miller-Heidke. How she uses her voice like she does is just unbelievable. Her new album Curiouser is quirky and the lyrics in some of her songs are so funny and relatable, i think thats why i like her so much. (Her front cover art to Curiouser is just amazing!)
Talking about my favourite musicians has just got me thinking about my favourite designers! i'm all really excited now! Ok so right up the very very top (the highest their is) would have to be Katherine Pont the designer of lable Mine. So shes not like Chanel and Christian Dior but her designs are just as good! I first found her in my first issue of Russh. Her designs are so simple but detailed, basic but classic, and quirky but modest! Valentino is also up there along with Christian Dior. I love Valentino's handabag and shoe designs; they're simple and practical in both style and colour although you do have your range of colours to choose from in certain styles.
Christian Dior is a man i will always follow with fashion after reading his book The Little Dictonary of Fashion! From what i read he really knew what he was doing; who he was designing for, practicality, comfort, and occasion. To me he seems like a simple and creative designer who caters for stylish and practical people. Dior's shoes seem to strike my fancy ;)

Well i think thats all from me today ;)

hopefully i will see you tomorrow!

Dreary with Inspiration

Today went for ages and certain issues made it even longer and more miserable. Being home makes things more relaxing, at times anyway.
Anyway as it is heading into winter here in Australia, i thought it would be good to soak up some awe inspiring inspiration. Here are some things this season that are preparing me for the winter ahead!
The top picture is of a Boat Neck Dress which is designed by a Nicola Finetti. His designs a very basic with colours and most of them have simple shapes and structure although his Beaded One Shoulder Dress is an exception. The bottom picture is of Sass & Bide's; The Almost Moon Dress which just happens to be adjustable! You can adjust it into a cocktail dress and even a full length dress.

I'm also falling completely in love with Rimmel Londons new range of lipsticks called Moisture Renew which are now my favourite lipsticks they are so soft to apply and smell beautiful! My favourite colour is Nude Delight as i love my nudes although i wouldn't mind a light pink and a peachy coloured one from their collection.
I have also lately been very happy with Bare Minerals Foundation. I never really thought mineral make-up could make such a difference with blemishes, red spots and large pores but believe it or not it actually does and i think Bare Minerals is the best mineral make-up and i don't think i will ever go back to a liquid foundation unless it is mineral!
One of my favourite style icons especially for winter is Daisy Lowe. I think she is absolutly beautiful and can really dress for any occasion! Her look always looks warm and simple and i think her hair is just amazing! Emma Watson is also one of my favourite muses for winter fashion. She seems to look elegant and proper in everything she wears, i love everything about her style.
